Blackbeard's Top Ten

WHEN HIS GHOST VISITS CHARLESTON, THESE ARE BLACKBEARD'S TOP 10 THINGS TO DO:

10. Walk on deck and through the hold of a 1670 merchant sailing ship replica at Charles Towne Landing.

9. Browse the handmade clothing, jewelry and dolls at Clown's Bazaar -- a tax free gift shop that sells crafts made by disadvantaged artisans.

8. Walk the length of the Battery sea wall and see what the local anglers are pulling from the harbor.

7. Lunch on a bowl of she-crab soup at A.W. Shucks in the market.

6. Take a low-country Ghost Walk and listen to local storytellers spin tales of superstition, recent ghost sightings and folklore along the shadowy back streets of Charleston.

5. Eat a praline from any of the candy shops along Market and Meeting Street.

4. Duck into The Griffon for a cold Guinness, Bass Ale or Newcastle and then autograph a $1 bill stapled to the wall.

3. Sample the city's specialty -- shrimp and grits.

2. Smoke a good cigar from the Tinder Box Internationale on Meeting Street and then head upstairs to Club Habana for an Espresso Martini, the house special mix of espresso, kahlua and vodka.

1. Take a moonlit stroll to the end of Waterfront Park. Sit on a porch swing and watch the ships pass through the harbor.
